We bring the “world” to Japan
Boulogne took notice of the cultures of Northern European countries before they began to draw attention, and has been introducing various merchandise from these countries, especially ones woven with traditional poppana weaving technique.
We have staff stationed in Finland to create conventional interior goods as well as clothes that bring out the quality and unique features of poppana woven fabric. Our staff have worked with local factories to make the fabric lighter and softer for the Japanese market.
Fabrics made with this weaving technique have been used for a variety of purposes, including bedspreads, tablecloths, and curtains, as they are not only tightly woven and highly heat-retentive, but also highly stretchy and hygroscopic.
Clothes woven with this traditional poppana weaving technique are now drawing attention. In addition to the matter-of-course thermal feature, they have unrefined texture and colors of natural materials as well as luxurious, velvety feel created by a unique brushing technique, all of which provides comfort to the wearer.
Their easy-care feature is another aspect that makes them popular.
